Background
The field of Mechanical Engineering was one of the pioneering and expanding disciplines in the University of Moratuwa for last 42 years. The department thrives in producing quality and relevant mechanical engineering undergraduates. In this endeavor exploring and comprehending the current and future mechanical engineering trends in the industry are vital in orienting;
- the curriculum including new focus areas and streams,
- the experimental and other relevant physical infrastructure,
and further enhancing;
- the capacity building,
- the collaborative research and product development.
